Actually Medicare (vice Medicaid) is the vehicle that leads to single payer. Under Medicare you pay into the system. Medicare Part B premiums are essentially means tested based on income. The Dems will want to incorporate means testing in any single payer system to soak the rich.
Agree. Anyway they can “ have their cake, and eat it too” is fine as long as the providers in society are the ones hurt..
couldn’t have been clearer letting OB become president with a british father
Well, we're done.
Up until Obama, "everybody knew" it took two citizen parents and born in US jurisdiction. The Senate even passed a resolution saying as much, allegedly for McCain.
They also knew that homosexuality was a mental disorder, just like GID, and (before algor) that we were expecting another ice age...all changed by lies from the left.
Well, except that when they didn't. This issue has always been looked through very partisan glasses, depending on who thinks their ox is being gored. What do you think of this:
Chester Alan Arthur was born October 5, 1829, in Fairfield, Vermont. Arthur's mother, Malvina Stone, was born in Berkshire, Vermont, the daughter of George Washington Stone and Judith Stevens. Her family was primarily of English and Welsh descent, and her grandfather, Uriah Stone, had served in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. Arthur's father, William Arthur, was born in Dreen, Cullybackey, County Antrim, Ireland to a Presbyterian family of Scots-Irish descent; he graduated from college in Belfast and emigrated to the Province of Lower Canada in 1819 or 1820.
Chester A. Arthur, of course, was the 21st President of the United States.
Joseph Campbell did a marvelous job of linking religions and myths from around the world and thru time. About God he said:
God is a metaphor for a mystery that absolutely transcends all human categories of thought, even the categories of being and non-being. Those are categories of thought. I mean it's as simple as that. So it depends on how much you want to think about it. Whether it's doing you any good. Whether it is putting you in touch with the mystery that's the ground of your own being. If it isn't, well, it's a lie. So half the people in the world are religious people who think that their metaphors are facts. Those are what we call theists. The other half are people who know that the metaphors are not facts. And so, they're lies. Those are the atheists.
My point is that we are unable to comprehend or grasp certain concepts whether they be about time, space, the universe, or own existence. Science can explode some of these old myths or ideas, but raise new questions that defy answers. For example, where did the hydrogen come from to create the "Big Bang?"
What an excellent quote by Campbell. I love his writings, and have his boxed set of books.
I am a theist and a Christian.
I do believe my life—and yours and other humans lives—are unique and come from God. The element hydrogen was made to be the building block of all the other elements and indeed, all other elements are forged from hydrogen in the nuclear fire of stars.
Hydrogen came FROM the Big Bang, not the other way round.
Now, who fired off the Big Bang?
God.
Why don’t we all go back to Eleanor’s Sunday dinners for “dad”?
Recipes and info were so much more fun! :)
Obama was not a blank slate. He had been a state legislator in Illinois and two years as a US Senator. He had been labeled the most liberal senator in the US Senate. He was not properly vetted by a complicit MSM and an intimidated GOP.
His background, history, and political record was either unknown or manufactured by his supporters to tell the voters what they wanted to hear. Harris will not enjoy such an advantage. She has a record and its not a good one..
Harris enjoys a favorable media. She checks all the boxes. Black and Asian. A woman. Daughter of immigrants. An extreme liberal. White husband who is Jewish. Lived abroad and graduated from high school in Montreal. Went to an historic black college.
You may deem Harris' record as not a good one, but you are not part of her base. She was the District Attorney of San Francisco for 7 years, the CA Attorney General for 6 years being elected and reelected, and the junior Senator from CA since Jan 2017. Her resume is far better than Obama's.
Harris is a strong candidate and should be viewed as such. Hopefully, the Trump people are hard at work on operations research.
But, you have all of that Lame Maniac health care crap. sorry to see GOV. LE PAGE TERM LIMITED.
He is one smart Dude.
I was aware of it, and it was controversial.
It's only a miracle we aren't all speaking Irish.
If it hadn’t been for the Japanese, we probably would be speaking German today.
