Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., formally announced her candidacy for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination on Saturday, saying she wants to fight for "an America that works for everyone."

According to Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary (I need sources, right?) “Beaner” is derogatory slang for “Mexican.”
But I don’t think she meant it that way. She meant it as “we were so poor, we had to eat cheap food, like beans.” Just as she meant, “I need to get me a beer,” as an indication that she was so in-tune with beer-drinking America, which she is not. I think she’s a white-wine (whine?) drinker, myself.
