The new House Intelligence Committee chairman, Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), has proven to be his partys most effective antagonist toward President Trump. And now, with the new powers of being chairman, he is drawing both new weapons and new scrutiny.
Sometimes such scrutiny inevitably turns to questions of hypocrisy.
Which bring us to the issue of some photographs taken at the prestigious Aspen security conference last July.
They show Schiff meeting at the event with Fusion GPS Founder Glenn Simpson, one of the key and most controversial figures in the Russia collusion scandal. Both men insisted to me through spokesmen that they met only briefly last July.
At the time of the encounter, Simpson was an important witness in the House Intelligence Committee probe who had given sworn testimony about alleged, but still unproven, collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.
Simpson ran the firm hired by Hillary Clintons campaign and the Democratic Party to find dirt on Trump in Moscow. He employed retired British intelligence operative Christopher Steele, whose infamous and unverified dossier became the main evidence for the FBIs probe of the Trump campaign, particularly the surveillance warrant against Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
And by the time of the meeting, the House Intelligence Committee had already received evidence from a senior Justice Department official, Bruce Ohr, that called into question Simpsons testimony to lawmakers.
Specifically, Simpson claimed he had not begun meeting with Ohr until after Thanksgiving 2016, well after the FBI had begun investigating Trump-Russia collusion and after the presidential election in which Simpson's client, Clinton, lost to Trump.
But Ohr provided compelling evidence, including calendar notations, testimony and handwritten notes, showing that Simpson met with him in August 2016, well before the election and during a time when Steele was helping the FBI start an investigation...

I call the C-word here. Conspiracy.
Good thing you clarified that. In Schitt’s case another “c” word would be apt.
Schiff's Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence oversees all or part of the
following executive branch departments and agencies:
-Office of the Director of National Intelligence
-Central Intelligence Agency
-Defense Intelligence Agency
-Department of Defense
-Department of Energy
-Department of Homeland Security
-Department of Justice
-Department of State
-Department of Treasury Drug Enforcement Administration
-Federal Bureau of Investigation
-National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
-National Reconnaissance Office
National Security Agency
-Office of Naval Intelligence
-Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency
United States Army Intelligence and Security Command
-United States Coast Guard Intelligence
-Marine Corps Intelligence Activity
NOTE WELL: Schiff employed the Pakistani IT's.
At no time did Cong Schiff advise any of these critical agencies that intel they provided his office
was being viewed by suspected foreign spies....perhaps sold abroad.... by foreign enemies of the US.
“I call the C-word here. Conspiracy.”
We can always hope that Adam Schiff ends up going to prison before this saga ends.
Schitft is obstructing justice, colluding, conspiring to overthrow the government, etc.
“Good thing you clarified that. In Schitts case another c word would be apt.”
Something to do with a “Will Bottom”...
c- artel?
That doesn’t really mean very much.
Most of those Agencies are quite large. The Inspectors General of the Agencies are supposed to do the watchdog function. As well as GAO.
Simpson was on Russias payroll. Does that make him a Russian agent?
Steele was on Russias payroll. Does that make him a Russian agent?
If Nelly Ohr was on Simpsons payroll, who was on Russias payroll, does that make her a Russian agent?
Is that a satire site?
If Schaffers is conspiring with Fusion, who are on Russias payroll, does that make him a Russian agent?
Will Bottom ?

How Clinton operatives pushed now-debunked Trump-Russia server conspiracy
The Washington Times ^ | January 23, 2019 | Rowan Scarborough / FR Posted by detective
The Clinton campaigns operation to spread a now-debunked story on a Russian bank-Donald Trump computer linkage went further than previously known, according to new congressional testimony. It turns out that at least two Clinton operatives went inside the Justice Department to sell the allegation.
The phony Democrat-pitched narrative went like this: The Trump Organization maintained a secret computer server at Trump Tower directly tied to Moscows Alfa Bank, whose partners are linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin. But cybersleuths traced the servers IP address not to Moscow, but to a spam operation outside Philadelphia that spit out hotel marketing pitches, including the Trump Organizations. ===================================
We, the people, know "so little," (smirk) for example:
<><> the dossier was handed off by Fusion GPS employee, Nellie Ohr, to her husband, DOJ official Bruce Ohr,
<><> with a sprinkle of DNC fairy dust, the dossier became the "real thing"....
<><> the basis of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants,
<><> specifically targeting Trump campaign adviser, Carter Page,
<><> signed off by the Obama administration,
<><> high mucky-muck FBI director James Comey and deputy, Andrew McCabe jumped in feet-first,
Wow. Aint this a shocker? Ohr was later (cough) "demoted" over his involvement.
