Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) will bring a woman to President Donald Trumps State of the Union address who protested then-Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) in a Capitol Hill elevator over his support for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaughs comfirmation.
Ana Maria Archila, co-executive direct of the progressive advocacy group the Center for Popular Democracy, confronted the Arizona Republican as he made his way to a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to advance Kavanaugh nomination to a full Senate floor vote.
In a statement to The Intercept, Archila said expressed gratidue for Ocasio-Cortezs invitation to Tuesdays high-stakes speech.
I just feel particularly moved that in her first participation in the State of the Union she is inviting me to join and inviting that moment of the elevator, my confrontation with the men who do not understand the life of women and the lives of people who are not in power, that shes inviting that into the imagination of people again, Archila told the news outlet.
Ocasio-Cortez hinted at her guests identity on Saturday, tweeting a photo of a pin that reads: Well behaved women rarely make history.

Guests? What a circus
Well behaved women rarely make history.

That’s right, they don’t make history. They make SAMMICHES.
Now go find that kitchen, hon.
Nothing spontaneous about it.
Check her immigration status.
Kathy Griffin was first choice but unavailable.
The Statue of Liberty climber had a court date.
This SOTU is going to make the CIRCUS pack up and leave town!
Keep showing Americans WHO YOU ARE, Socialists!
My initial reaction is, “who cares?”
Just the beginning....the House gallery will be a madhouse during SOTU. Hope PDJT has done some tactical planning.
I’m sure somebody has invited Big Chief Ugh-Amugh-Ugh to drum throughout the address.
Wonder what the two Muslimahs will drag into the chamber.
UGH, if it devolves in something like the Kavanaugh hearings I will be embarrassed for our country.
AOC is very well dressed these days. Who is paying for her duds? Or are they “gifts” from liberal designers using her as a publicity model?
She wears multi-thousand dollar outfits, whereas just a few weeks ago, we were hearing about how she couldn’t afford an apartment in DC because her first paycheck hadn’t arrived.
Does anyone else find this incongruous?
It will!...prepare to be!
I would do the SOTU address from the Oval Office and state “Congress if they want can watch it on TV like other Americans!”
Of course maybe one of the goals is let the circus happen!
Who is betting President Trump’s SOTU address will be interrupted by the bombthrowing mouths of the left?
I will say ten times.
You've been a member on this board long enough to know that socialism is for the people, not for the people running the show.
People like AOC are always going to be well-dressed and fed, while the rest of us starve and stand around 55-gallon drum fires for heat.
...from Columbia..immigrated when 17...became an “activist” as soon as she left college....typically,joins any group that is antiUS...
It’s more of an observation than a question, because it this case her transformation from toothy bartender to fashionable know-nothing pundit has been so dramatically quick.
There are less photogenic members of Congress who don’t seem to benefit from their position as rapidly.
Trump made a mistake by waiting for the House to be available. He should have just done it in the Senate. Invite everyone from the House but then McConnell actually hands out the tickets. Hand them out only to the Dem and Rep House leadership. That would be embarrassing to Pelosi. She shows up after cancelling it in the House. Or she doesnt show up which would be even more embarrassing.
Well behaved women rarely make history.
Proof that Cortez has never read a book or knows anything about famous women.
Yes! I wouldn’t be surprised if Pelosi gets up and walks out when he starts raking her over the coals.
