Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax issued a forceful pre-dawn denial on Monday to an allegation of sexual assault that surfaced after 15 years, in the latest political bombshell to rock Richmond where Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam is battling resignation calls over a racist photo from his medical school yearbook.
Fairfax, who would be next in line for governor should Northam bow to pressure and resign, called the allegation “defamatory” and “false.”
“Lt. Governor Fairfax has an outstanding and well-earned reputation for treating people with dignity and respect,” the statement from his office read. “He has never assaulted anyone—ever—in any way, shape, or form.”

Looking at Virginia from the People's Republic of New York, it seems the RINOs there act like the RINOs here in actively supporting the RATS or staying home leaving the conservatives to fight alone.
Virginia needs to secede. Again.

Doing what they have become reliable for doing: losing in a “gentlemanly” fashion.
By #metoo standards, Fairfax should be toast, but he’s a Demon Rat so he’ll get a major pass. The Washington Compost “investigating” and refusing to publish tells me nothing about the legitimacy of the accusation. If Sharyl Attkisson or Catherine Herridge had investigated and said “nothing there”, then I’d believe it.
I can't speak to the veracity of the claim, but citing the lack of MSM coverage is not a factor in one's favor.
Everyone knows that the MSM routinely omits harmful news about Democrats, especially in the run-up to a major election.

Poetic justice. Where is ignorant Senator Hirono who was saying at the Kavanaugh kangaroo hearings that women must be believed now that one of their own is being accused by a ME Tooer of sexual assault when he was an adult not a high school teen. Hope a Republican is next in line to accede to governor if Fairfax cannot move up.
