I know Germany already announced they would not consider the F-35, but apparently the manufacturer has not yet been notified.

Apparently there may be plans by Germany to develop a competitor.

However, if Germany is going to be this way, it is in my opinion high time to aggressively deal with them on trade.

Now. And I say this as someone with some German heritage.

Germany is not acting like an ally.

Fine. Treat them that way.

Well, the 35 does have many issues. It’s genesis was, to be kind, a Charlie Foxtrot. Hey, let’s design it, with a whole lot of chefs, and build it at the same time.

Brilliant!

And way, way, way.... over budget.

Your tax dollars at work... sort of.

General Muellner, who began his career as a flight officer on the US-built F-4, is regarded as a vocal proponent of the F-35. Last November, he told Reuters the replacement for the Tornado fighter must be a fifth-generation aircraft capable of hitting targets while staying out of reach of enemy radar.

According to the air force chief, the future fighter has to be “low-observable, and able to identify and strike targets from a great distance...It will have to be a fifth-generation jet to meet the full spectrum of our needs,” Muellner said.

However, the assessment did not appear to sit well with other military chiefs. A month later, in December, Deputy Defense Minister Ralf Brauksiepe said, responding to a parliamentary request for information: “The indicated view of the Inspector of the Air Force that the F-35 Lightning II is an especially suitable successor to the Tornado system is not the position of the federal government.”

Lockheed-Martin is already developing a competitor. They know a bit more about what they're competing against than the Germans do.

Why should Germany want to use this junk? And they’re going to fire their air force chief just for mentioning the plane?

Germany hasn’t acted like an ally in generations....if ever. I too have German heritage, lived there and speak the language. From the bottom of my heart....screw ‘em. They’re no friends of ours. They’ve been playing us for suckers for quite a long time now. Let them pay for their own defense. Bring the boys home and withdraw from Nato.

As for their planes.....its going to be tough to develop a competitor to the F35 when you spend no money on your military because you’re too busy trying to pay for all the socialism...not to mention financing the upkeep of all those 3rd world savages you brought into your country who now live on the public dole. For a smart and talented people the Germans collectively are INCREDIBLY stupid.

Who cares about Germany really? All the Russians have to do is turn off the gas, continue to destabilize the Mideast and flood Europe with Muslims and just move some troops to protect the Russian citizens in Kallingrad-Oblast that might "feel" threatened by the NATO or Germans...hahahaha Just like they did in Crimea.

Are you or your sons going to war to protect Germany?

In fact the whole scam of the democrats trying to gin up some Russian bogeyman is laughable, since they've been the biggest supporters of communists.

I'm old and unfortunately won't be around to see the EU elites put up against the wall or on their knees while a bullet is put into them or a blade is dragged across their quisling necks.
