Democrats do not generally turn on their own, especially if that person is farther left than the craziest among them. I am beginning to revise my belief that, yes, they do want this guy to resign—but only because they want Justin Fairfax in the office more. Why? Because he is from the black, oppressed people and not an old white guy.

Leftists are herders. They have a primary and secondary default:
Primary: huddle together in a unified front, defend anything for sake of leftist agenda.
Secondary: sacrifice anyone politically crippled and exposed to predators to protect rest of herd.
Both are herd-like behaviors.
