Once again, Trump trumps Pelosi. You hit him, he hits you back twice as hard.
Should have taken the DACA deal when it was offered.
Now it might be too late.
Better hurry, and offer Trump a deal he can’t refuse. Or not, and take your chances with the SCOTUS.
Dont necessarily bet on that. Yanking the rug out from under the GOPs negotiators in this fashion might have them looking for ways to sideline Trump too. If they cant even trust Trump to stand by offers made publicly in national addresses, why should they go to the mat for him at all?
...
Pretty bad article.
BUILD THE WALL!
DEPORT THEM ALL!
You snooze, you lose.
Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all!
Hey Pelosi says no wall ever. Trump reacts in kind and with hopefully the SCOTUS on his side too:-)
did Trump’s offer have more too it? like a agree now or I can’t promise it for the future type of time frame for their agreement and pelosi immediately said “no”.
You don’t pull Superman’s cape. You don’t spit into the wind. You don’t take the mask of the old Lone Ranger and you don’t mess around with him.
With allies like Ann Coulter...
Don’t get me wrong, she’s great. At self-promotion to sell books.
Of course, NeverTrump Ed sees this as a reason Republicans should hate Trump. NeverTrump Ed willfully ignores the truth of the matter to slam Trump and his supporters again.
Thankfully for NeverTrump Ed, we have FReeprs who like posting anti-Trump screeds, without comment, letting all of us know where they stand against Trump, (SeekandFind).
Trump made an offer to the Dems (or Congress — whichever works for you). It was a package deal, and the other side refused it. None of that is on Trump.
and any Bills that make it to his Desk better have Wall money in it
The President is whipsawing the DemocRATS and has them off balance.
What happens if SCOTUS ends DACA? Will these illegals then be deported? I sure hope so! Every last one of them. I dont care their age when they came, I do care that they came illegally, they can discuss that with their parents but it is not our problem. They need to leave.
“All of that was true then, and its still true today, but now its been reduced to ‘speculation’ that Trump might support a deal he flat-out put on the table himself.”
The article fails to mention that Pelosi said she was not interested in DACA. Trump withdrew the offer. He never stipulated to an unlimited time.
The article tries to portray Trump as acting in bad faith in negotiations. That’s a lie. He offered. They refused.
In negotiations one side does not get to claim ALL of the concessions or offers of the other and give NOTHING in return and then claim the other side is acting in bad faith.
The president was helping them out by putting something they claim to want on the table. Turns out there is nothing they want badly enough to allow Trump to build the wall.
But this will backfire on them when he builds the wall without their help and they get NOTHING.
The Democrats claimed that if the government was temporarily reopened they would negotiate. They are not negotiating. They lied. When the government gets shut down again, it is their fault for lying and acting in bad faith.
Deport all those nightmares back to their own countries... along with their parents.
It seems to me that a fundamental tenet of western society and commerce is goodwill. you extend goodwill towards your trading partner and he/she does the same for you. That is a prerequisite for effective dealmaking. If you take away goodwill, then you take away the possibility of making effective deals, because neither party has incentive to deal in good faith. In that situation, the strongest prevails against the weaker adversary. It is an adversarial relationship between the bargaining parties. It seems to me that the Democrats are dealing from a position of weakness and yet they refuse to deal in good faith. That is difficult for me to understand. What is the Democrat endgame? How can they somehow prevail by not dealing in good faith? What am I missing?
