Well I am Uber conservative and frankly if they don’t want to go to school then as far as I’m concerned that’s just fine with me.
Chronic truants are never going to learn anything in school and they’re going to do nothing but disrupt it for the few children that are interested in learning. And on top of all of that the schools are teaching nothing anyway except adherence to the state and socialism.
Here’s a little clue about why the state in the school systems are so concerned having morons attend school everyday. It’s all about money. Every time one of these kids doesn’t come to school the school district losses Federal money which is based on attendance days. They don’t give a damn whether these kids learn to walk upright and wipe their own butts. As long as they get those federal dollars.
I dealt with these idiots for several years when my daughter was in high school after she had been home-schooled. The school wouldn’t let her take allergy medicine at school so whenever her sinuses bothered her I let her stay home. She missed 14 days in her junior year and I was called on the carpet by the fascist bureaucrats at the school. I pointed out why she was home, I also pointed out that she was a straight-A student in all advanced classes and what did they think she was missing? They tried to claim that I couldn’t know if she was home, and I pointed out that I had an office at home and was well aware of where she was.
I suggested that their time might be better spent going after kids who missed 50 to 100 days a year who gave the schools fake addresses and the schools didn’t even know where they lived and were failing everything rather than a scholarship student. They dropped the whole matter.
Prosecuting the parents of high school students who are truants is completely stupid and even more ineffectual.
Yep. I discovered that little secret when one of my children was in pre-K and missed too many days. The reason why didn't matter to the school. They didn't care about him at all. It was all about money.
I agree that chronic truants take up air and are disruptive. Regarding medication at school, not sure of your state but i recall with sons asthma med he got doctors note and was allowed to carry and use inhaler.
You said it better than I did.
