ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A private school in Maryland confirmed Monday that 10 adults in positions of authority engaged in sexual misconduct or inappropriate relationships with students from the 1970s through the early 1990s, and that the school failed to protect students from them. The Key School said at least 16 former students were subjected to the abuse. Officials there released the report on the school's website after an investigation that began in April, initiated by the school.

None of the people accused are currently at the school.
We do not know what really happened, and may never know because of the time that has elapsed.
Accusations are not facts. They may be correct, they may not. We do not know.
Suspect that the decadent, inherited wealth fathers who attended these schools know full well what goes on there. Don’t put it passed them to send their 12-13 year old sons there to be educated into the nuances of their hedonism.
The school hasn’t merely confirmed the allegations’ existence. It attests those inappropriate relationships did indeed happen. That’s far closer to being facts than your “we may never know.” Do you have a pony in this, which accounts for your skewed view?
But in a Metoo era, so many are willing to confess for an organization, just to try to get on the politically correct side. These things are mostly alleged to have happened about 40 years ago.
Just how would people at the school know?
It seems unlikely that there were official records kept, or that the accused confessed to the school.
It could be.
I would like to know more about the alleged details. Maybe more will show up.
I have just seen too many situations where people jump on the bandwagon, only to find that a lot of alleged things really did not happen.
Remember all the day-care satanist sex-cult hysteria of the 80's and 90's? Lots of false testimony there.
I went to school in the 70’s. I would say that “relationships” were regarded in a different light back then as compared to now.
I had a classmate who boasted of having seduced one of the (married) coaches. Did it happen? No idea. Another classmate had a sister who eventually married a teacher; their relationship started before she graduated. (He was single). We also had a very good-looking coach who could have had a relationship with a number of female students had he wished; he made it clear that he was devoted to his girlfriend and was not interested in any student.
I found those relationships to be at least slightly creepy but not abusive, at least at the time. Interestingly, there were no female teacher/male student relationships that I was aware of at the time, nor since. All of the students involved, that I know of, were willing participants.
Things were different 40-plus years ago.

Key School is just a small private school in a suburb of Annapolis. Hardly a Choate or an Eton.
They did apparently do an investigation, using investigators through a law firm that interviewed 57 people. In a 41-page report from that investigation, it showed they were able to uncover significant wrongdoing on the part of several people. Now they say that no one against whom any allegations had been made were still at the school.
I certainly remember the McMartin preschool trial, in which the innocent were railroaded, despite the truth of your suggestion that there was and probably still is significant satanic sex-cult activity going on there, even in the nearby California neighborhoods.
