A study released last week by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that just under two percent of high school students said they were “transgender,” meaning their sense of gender identity did not align with their sex at birth The report is the first released by the CDC that asked transgender-related questions among a large number of students, Reuters cited unidentified experts.
Thirty-five percent of the transgender students said they had attempted suicide in the previous year, compared with about seven percent of those who did not see themselves as transgender, the CDC study found. This startling figure should indicate that young people who identify as “transgender” have a much higher rate of psychological disturbance leading to severe depression than those who do not.

It’s cool and hip to be transgender these days. It does apparently suck actually being one. But hey, let’s everybody else celebrate it.

This is not an excuse to mistreat, but given those suicide stats alone, more than ample reason to look into why these folks have mental problems.
Forty years ago, a total of 2% of the population was gay or bisexual. Recruiting really does work on the sick and on the weak minded. Tell people with mental illness that the problem is their anatomy and not them, and they will latch onto that excuse with enthusiasm.

When people think they know more than God and act accordingly, bad things always happen.
I suspect none of them had any spiritual training, learned that the person is never really in charge. Never were given the opportunity to attend Sunday School and learn those Old Testament stories on morality and faith, the New Testament lessons of God great unconditional love for His people.

I missed the “students said” part. I imagine if they had been asked the question just under 5% would’ve identified themselves as hippos.

“Under 2%” actually sounds surprisingly low considering how trendy it is, how much the media has promoted it, etc. I image five years ago it was 0.5%. Hopefully it’ll go back there once Generation Z graduates and a hopefully less dumb generation replaces them.
