Could Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., be generating more early buzz than former President Barack Obama did more than 10 years ago?
If attendance is any indicator, the answer could be yes.
The California senator officially entered the 2020 fray on Sunday with a speech outside Oakland City Hall. Ian Sams, Harris' press secretary, tweeted that more than 20,000 people showed up to see the event.

Compare that to February 2007, when then-Illinois Sen. Obama announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination in Springfield, Ill. Braving freezing-cold conditions outside the Old State Capitol, somewhere between 15,000 and 17,000 people showed up for his speech officially marking the beginning of his campaign.

20,000 Pimps all trying to sign her up.
With all the dumbass Democrats in California, I’d say that was a very low turnout.
She also checks the LIB lunatic box.
Commentators in California have observed that Sen. Harris is widely disliked in California politics, and that California politicians are widely disliked in the rest of the country. Presidential candidates, as Hillary Clinton learned, have to win votes, not just in California, but in states full of people they hate.
It has also been pointed out that educated, single, white, feminist women (a substantial group of Democrat primary voters), may not go for the married politician’s amply-rewarded whore.
Think of a number... any number. You've got a number in your head? Good! Now that number is news!
Easiest path back to the White House for the Dems is getting Trump’s base to stay home. Giving the nom to Obama in dress obviously doesn’t do that.
I expect the Dems will be totally ruthless and end up nominating two white guys for their ticket since that gets them the best chance of dividing Trump’s base. Probably a dreamy hunk like Beto that targets suburban moms/grandmas and some old white guy from the Trump admin like Mattis or Kelly that targets the mainline GOP country club set.

Yep. I expect they will vote for a man to oppose Trump. Like Beto. I think it will be a huge brawl between Harris and O’Roarke to win the expensive CA primary.
Was Willie Harris among the crowd? Did he diddle her after the event was over?

Hey Nancy...use spell check next time

I, too, expect the Democrat ticket to be white men. I wonder whether “Beto” will stop pretending to be Hispanic in order to be more appealing to the Southern black voters.
In passing, I lived in the Southwest almost half my life, and I’m now part of a Spanish church congregation with participants from at least 15 countries. I’ve never known a man to call himself “Beto.”
Drawing a bigger crowd than obama is meaningless this early in the game.
obama was a relatively unknown nobody when he started out and gained tremendous momentum as time progressed. This Harris starting big can be attributed to the MSM promoting her for quite some time now, where that never happened with obama until he crawled out from obscurity.
The one to properly compare to obama is AOC. If her MSM generated momentum keeps up, she will be elected prez when she becomes of age.
Good analysis. Don't take her lightly. People here can dismiss her as a nut case, make fun of her, post funny memes about her, etc. As you said, however, she checks all of the boxes as far as the left and their flunkies in the media are concerned.
We all want to see a FOOL dance.....she is a slut....
She can't hide her inner true leftist self like Obama did.
She is not Afican American
You are correct, but she will allow that Racial tag if it helps her win votes. Her Dad was from India and her mother Jamaican.
OMG the hand wringing is starting already.
