Trump rips into Fox News over shutdown, border wall coverage

President Trump

DONALD JOHN TRUMP on Sunday blasted a pair of Fox News reporters over their coverage of the border wall negotiations, claiming that they have "less understanding" than journalists at "fake news CNN & NBC."

"Never thought I’d say this but I think [John Roberts] and [Gillian Turner] have even less understanding of the Wall negotiations than the folks at FAKE NEWS CNN & NBC!" Trump tweeted, referring to two of the news network's top correspondents.

"Look to final results! Don’t know how my poll numbers are so good, especially up 19% with Hispanics?" Trump continued, referring to a poll published earlier this month that found a growing number of Latino adults approved of Trump's job performance.

The Marist poll, published in partnership with PBS and NPR, found that 50 percent of Latino adults approve of Trump's job as president, up from 31 percent in December. The survey also found that just 39 percent of adults approved of Trump's job performance.

It is unclear what specific coverage Trump was referring to. Roberts filled in for Fox News anchor Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday." Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.

The comments from Trump come only days after he signed a continuing resolution to temporarily reopen the government following a 35-day shutdown. The funding lapse was triggered after Congress failed to reach an agreement on a new spending bill.

Trump has repeatedly demanded that a long-term bill include funds for a border wall, which Democrats oppose. The president expressed doubts to The Wall Street Journal on Sunday that lawmakers could reach an agreement on the issue.

“I personally think it’s less than 50-50, but you have a lot of very good people on that board," Trump told The Journal, adding that another shutdown is "certainly an option."

And rightfully so. It should shock no one that Roberts and Turner are flaming libs.

After all that I have done for the Military, our great Veterans, Judges (99), Justices (2), Tax & Regulation Cuts, the Economy, Energy, Trade & MUCH MORE, does anybody really think I won’t build the WALL? You need to duck and weave to deliver the knockout punch.

I think it is time to act, Mr President. Every day, the rats are squeezing us as they slowly boil us with the combination of socialism and rampant illegal immigration.

Please stop them. This is an emergency.

We (ok, me) had long ago axed “FN Sunday” and since Trump was elected, the Megan Kelly philosophy had already moved Bret Baer off our evening viewing list.

However, I mistakenly thought when Bret was off, FNC’s “SR” was an improvement but after watching some of Roberts imitation of miserable Chris Wallace yesterday, as he pretended to interview Mick Mulvaney, I believe John must be “transitioning” into Cokie Roberts!

I’ve decided other than Fox & Friends, there’s not another show worth my time on FOX and wonder why the President would even bother to send any of his loyal administrators there for an “interview!”

Yeah you’re right.

I’m trying to generate some if the same interest in the various foreigners with eyebrow fixations on their “news” deliveries.

I’m guessing they come cheap right after j school graduation.

At my age I am not usually shocked when I listen to TV reporting. However when I heard John Roberts comments I was taken back and knew the Prez would comment shortly.

Most of Fox New’s “personalities” have been pretty serious NPC smuggies for a long time. Chris Wallace? Brett? Even Dana. I could go right through their stable. There are only a couple I can stomach.

Roberts has never liked Trump
. It usually comes down to one self appointed man and personality. So I don’t like Roberts reporting anytime. They lose credibility.

You’d sooner name the ones who do like Trump on fox.
Trump is different and they want him to fit their mold..

Since the first time I saw/heard Gillian Turner, I’ve hated her. She hates Trump. Wasn’t she part of the Obama administration?

And how does a person contact Fox people via email any more? They assume everyone uses Twitter or Facebook. It appears that Lou Dobbs is the only one who uses email.

I don’t know how to email them either. I found this phone number for Fox News customer service: (888) 369-4762

“Gillian is not guilty no matter what she said”

At least until she opens her mouth.

I’ve decided other than Fox & Friends...

Barely. Even there we have to put up with Brian Kilmeade’s rants against the President.
