MEDICINE?
Just what all of us would eagerly sign up for——
A medical person who doesn’t speak English,
who might be prescribing your medications—
and making a diagnosis that affects your future health.

I went to a hearing once and the convener and one of the involved were Hispanic. The meeting was conducted, all in English, and after it was over the two switched to Spanish to make a social commitment, but obviously did not want anyone else to know what their conversation was about. After they finished, I asked them if they knew I spoke Spanish? Awkward silence.
