I thought about what it would be like to rule Iraq when Sadaam Hussein was in charge.
Because of the vicious factions there and the different agendas, you wouldn't last a month without being assassinated, unless you were more violent and punishing than those factions.
You would have to be able to kill suspected assassins and their mothers fathers brothers and sisters and the assasin's sons and daughters to get the message across that even a failed suicide assassination is going to have consequences. - Tom
I think that’s a reasoned take. Then there’s the gassing of his people, and his sons taking married women and killing their husbands. And we haven’t gotten to the mass grave part yet.
Hussein was a despicable man. I don’t think there’s getting around that.
His people weren’t thrilled about him being gone for no cause.
