OK, good to hear some specifics. Would you keep the government shut down indefinitely? Then what about all the government workers, the TSA? Is this really practical? And do you really think that if Trump just shut down the border that that wouldn’t be challenged in court, too? The problem is he doesn’t have much leverage and the media, the radical Dems and Mueller are working hard EVERY DAY to force him out. I don’t know how the man takes it...

I think Ryano and McConnell talked him out of taking a stand before the mid-term elections. And I think they'd talked him out of it a time of two before then.
He definitely should have done it before the elections had taken place. But maybe can still get a win in the next several weeks.
Pres Trump has now given the country leaders the carrot and stick approach to settle the govt shutdown as well as funding the border security wall that America needs. Unlike other presidents who unwisely trusted the democrat party to keep their promises to fund the wall if only this or that thing was done in return. Pres Trump has set a deadline for negotiation on the entire situation and ended his address to the nation by affirming that either the wall is funded or he will use his presidential powers to get the job done without their help. I support Pres Trump in this decision which tells the democrats to put up or shut up. He has afforded them the opportunity to work for the safety of America and the citizens who pay for this govt. God bless Pres Trump and keep him safe. February 15 is three weeks away. The democrat leaders and any recalcitrant Republican leaders had better get cracking.
I would rather have us be wrong, then just have everybody knee-jerk and say, “Trump is God, He Can Do No Wrong.” We have to make sure he knows we’re watching him and we hold him to his word.

Geez, how did airlines and airports ever cope without TSA? Had the airports done their jobs on 9/11, perhaps those hijacks never would have taken place. Locked cockpits should have been standard practice back then. So many things could have been done prior to 9/11 but weren't. It's not as if airplanes had never been hijacked before. Hell, I remember the Democrats holding up voting for the Patriot Act because they demanded TSA employees be unionized. Nothing's changed with the Democrats, they could care less about saving American lives. It's only ever been about looking out for themselves.

He should have declared the emergency in exchange for opening government again. He could have said the shutdown adds to the emergency. It was a lost opportunity.

That’s because the war isn’t over. It’s not even close to being over. This battle has been a long time coming...So instead of stamping our feet and calling names... We decide to be all in and trust the only one who is fighting.
