We need to talk about Pete Buttigieg and why his candidacy for president in the age of identity politics is negatively disruptive though this certainly doesnt mean he shouldnt run. Hes the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and the first openly gay candidate to run for president. Its not a comfortable discussion. Ill be called a homophobe for having it. But its necessary, so lets dive right in.
The politics of the Democratic Party is driven by an ideology that pits one group against another. Blacks against whites. Gays against straights. Women against men. Political agendas and views are often put in that frame. We saw the consequences of this during Barack Obamas reign as the first black president. If you criticized him, you were called a racist. Almost all statements and judgments regarding his policies and performance were filtered through the lens of identity politics.
This was true with the candidacy of Hillary Clinton as well. Democrats tried to put any criticism of her agenda in that context. Women who opposed her were called traitors to their sex. Men who refused to vote for her were inevitably called misogynists who didnt want a female president.
Most of the time these accusations were untrue, but the truth doesnt matter in identity politics. Character, qualifications, and political philosophies dont matter. Its all about the group identity based on the hierarchy of historical victimhood, which elevates anyone who is not a white, straight man to the top of the ticket.
Like it or not, this is the state of our culture today. Politics is saturated with it. It worsened under the presidency of Obama for obvious reasons. The more you criticized his progressive and anti-American policies, the more you were labeled a racist.

Pete Buttigieg seems popular in South Bend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He is a mayor of a city. Almost every city is full of liberals. Not tough to be popular when you are their queen.
The Left dominates politics throughout all of the world’s cities. In any U.S. city, even when an R ends up as mayor, they are, usually, RINOS. And, truly conservative mayors aren’t in office for very long, anyways. Conservatism not existing in cities is an ongoing, major problem for conservatives, and the majority of city voters continue to not vote, in the majority, for conservative candidates for office.
If the people of Norte Dame can elect a gay mayor.....
Maybe he can get Colorado governor Polismoker as a running ‘mate’.
I posted something along these lines - sort of - yesterday.
Seems to have been suppressed by the mods, (or the Deep State?)
Anyway - PETER BUTTIGIEG or whatever.
Doesn’t that seem like a porno star name?
(Has anyone seen the birth certificate? LOL)
..
And let’s get back to using the word HOMOSEXUAL please. “Gay” is just so weird. I mean it’s just inappropriate when we have a much more descriptive word in HOMOSEXUAL.
Unh...no. Gay is not the new Black.
I’ve worked with homosexuals for decades, lived next door, sat in restaurants and had a gay lab partner in university.
No, they haven’t been denied because of their queerness. What has been denied is my wholesale approval for their sexual proclivities which I find disgusting as much as a gay man would find intercourse with a woman disgusting.
So, please, drop the claim gay is the new black. It isn’t.
I’ve frequently posted: HOMOSEXUAL, because there’s nothing GAY about it.
We already tried a gay President - it didn't work out well as the Constitution was being sodomized for 8 years.
No...he’s creepy...
The left always give a new name or title to those who are nearest to worthless.
People doing something wrong are not the new black. They are just sleezy!
