YouTube video of a news story about France and Germany signing a treaty, that, ostensibly, will tie the two countries very closely together.
The commentator seems hyperbolic but given Merkel's and Macron's history - is it?
Do any FReepers have additional information regarding this agreement?

Populist has nothing to do with popularity. Your own definition of populist was 'appealing to the masses'.
Suppose you describe an unpopular populist idea for me

So they can become what they were in the 1930s and 1940s again? Not exactly. This time, we'll get to bomb the hell out of France, too.

By appealing to the masses, I meant a politician who appeals for support from the masses in an effort to take down elites.
But you’re a smart guy who can Google populist without my help.
Have a good evening.

Google it yourself. My question was how the agreement could suppress populism, I made no claim that Markel and Marcon are populist. They obviously are not.

Good spirit there, but it’s still cheaper to not them get to the point where they think they can actually take us on.

That’s never going to happen.
And if it does/did, guess who gets conquered again anyhow.

i am sure there are more angry Germans than Frenchies.
France gets an economic powerhouse as a partner.
What do the Germans get?

"What do the Germans get?" Maybe they could work out a deal on a bunch of yellow vests?

Go to the source - Africa.

France gets an economic powerhouse as a partner. What do the Germans get? A back stage pass to the UN security council and a French province to be named later.
