I would say Trump is usually the smartest guy in the room and would be the smartest in this forum. I can only guess his motives.... but my guess is that he opted to let her look catty by not scheduling another venue that would simply look like tit for tat.... more opportunities for the media.
By not scheduling, he clearly puts it on her back that she, and only she, is holding up a time honored state of the union. This may well be a really smart move. Besides, he gets his message out daily anyhow and is in the throws of trying to move some dems on a deal.... right now in the Senate.
