President Trump said late Wednesday that he would deliver his State of the Union address after the ongoing partial government shutdown is over.
"As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address," Trump wrote in a tweet. "I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over."
Trump clarified earlier statements suggesting he may do an “alternative” State of the Union, writing that he was not seeking an alternative venue because "there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber."
"I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!" he added.
Directed at anyone who does not support building the wall now. If the Democrats get their way, we are going to be Venezuela pretty fast.
On the other hand it makes him sound like the adult in the petty battle over the State of the Union address and he really hasn't given anything up.
I don’t know...what did you say? lol. It says “Democrats” in the text. The Democrats through their propaganda wing, the media, are trying to make it look like few Americans support Trump when the exact opposite is true.

When you are in a fight like this, every once in a while you have to take your foot off the neck of your opponent. Just a little.
And by dangling the SOTU over the heads of the 535+ people who CRAVE annual attendance, Trump is offering one mother of a bribe to get HIS deal done!

They have no business calling leftists snowflakes or wimps because they demonstrate it at the drop of the hat over the dumbest stuff.
We had to put up with their BS all through 2016, with most of them being open surrender monkeys or riding the coattails of those of us that were the actual fighters.
After we drug these phonies over the finish line, all of a sudden they became the “base whisperers”, and claim to tell us what we do or dont think in order to give their predictable meltdowns some credence.
In a week they will be back to acting like that never happened. Like always.

Either she has something on him ...holding it over his head...why would he cave like that.....and whomever is his advisors do not kinow what the hell they are doing from the get go ..all need to be fired...and why did he announce this late at nite....next he will be saying hes going to resign....she will never give him the money for the wall...
Also, since we’re in partial shutdown — a negative thing for many people — maybe this isn’t the best time to do SOTU in any format. Wait until he wins the wall funding issue and then give it.
Maybe DJT will use his newly open time slot next Tuesday to hold a big rally. He can still do the SOTU when the Dems stop their temper tantrums.
