The United States stands with interim President Juan Guaido, the democratically elected National Assembly, and the people of Venezuela as they peacefully restore constitutional order to their country. We stand ready to support interim President Guaido as he establishes a transitional government and carries out his constitutional duties as interim President, including determining the status of diplomatic representatives in the United States and other countries.
We welcome interim President Guaidos directive to all diplomatic missions in Venezuela that Venezuela intends to maintain diplomatic relations with all countries. The United States maintains diplomatic relations with Venezuela and will conduct our relations with Venezuela through the government of interim President Guaido, who has invited our mission to remain in Venezuela. The United States does not recognize the Maduro regime as the government of Venezuela. Accordingly the United States does not consider former president Nicolas Maduro to have the legal authority to break diplomatic relations with the United States or to declare our diplomats persona non grata.
We call on the Venezuelan military and security forces to continue protecting the welfare and well-being of all Venezuelan citizens, as well as U.S. and other foreign citizens in Venezuela. We call on all parties to refrain from measures that are inconsistent with the privileges and immunities enjoyed by members of the diplomatic community. The United States will take appropriate actions to hold accountable anyone who endangers the safety and security of our mission and its personnel.

A hostile gov in SA is a very differen threat than one in the ME. Oil is not as important as hostilty.
The hot women will be a just reward for the Marines though...
You sure you didn't mean to say that the other way around?
Maduros must go.
Grin, grin, wink, wink. Nudge, nudge- say no more, squire!
so this makes it clearer.
Mexico, Cuba and other south american countries have supported the communist regime in Venezuela. They are also the nations that are supporting the surge assaults, via fake civilians and human shields... to our south.
I smell the rotting STENCH of obamacomie supporters. The one world commie movement of hillary and bam bam...
Where do african nations stand? UK? Northern Europe, Eastern Europe, the muzzies? NOT a single muzzie nation. Will Israel join with the rest of the west?
Will there be a violent purge of the commies... will they come running via mexico to our borders? very very interesting times...

Thats their job. As long as the American diplomats are in Venezuela, Maduro dares not try anything stupid, or if he does it will go badly for him
I understand Maduro is going to Target the US Embassy with that Sonic Weapon from Cuba.

I’d wager the word is out that if that happens, Maduro has been warned he will become a red mist....
We have taken in thousands, probably tens of thousands of Venezuelan refugees.
That costs a good bit.
American companies have had hundreds of millions, perhaps billions, of dollars of assets stolen by the Maduro regime. Certainly far more than a dollar.
Americans are victimized by the disorder, piracy, and crime fostered by the regime.
I would be very surprised if American blood has not been shed.
But, of course, it is easy to look at victims of national action, and forget the victims of national inaction.
“Kosovo is not a country.”
Just the list that was on zerohedge.
I case you have been hibernating, the Venezuelan People had to turn in their firearms.
You know, like your buddies on the left would like to do to us.
Too funny.
I agree. We don't have strategic interests there other than the fact that instability south of the border is bad and does have some implications RE:migrants and whatnot, which wouldn't be an issue if mexico would stop letting them through.
Maybe DJT can give a temporary SOTU address in the Embassy. The State of our Union is strong. Yours needs work, Venezuela.
“I case you have been hibernating, the Venezuelan People had to turn in their firearms.
You know, like your buddies on the left would like to do to us.”
What does that have to do with military intervention in Venezuela by the US?
And what makes you think I have “buddies on the left”? Are you on dope again?
