Another Democrat has flipped script and is demanding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi actually negotiate with President Donald Trump on a solution to reopen the federal government.
While speaking with a local news outlet, Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-MI, said Pelosi needs to “get in the damn room” with Trump and work out a compromise.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said he would be willing to allow President Donald Trump to give his State of the Union address on the House floor, breaking with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Fox News’ Neil Cavuto asked Hoyer if he’d be open to allowing Trump to address everyone in person.
“Sure,” Hoyer responded.
Cavuto then asked if he thought Pelosi would also allow Trump to give the speech on the House floor Jan. 29.
“Look, I don’t know what the discussions have been, so I don’t want to say,” Hoyer replied. He also said “physical barriers are a part of the solution” in his appearance, something Democrats have adamantly opposed.
The White House contacted the U.S. Capitol looking to schedule a walk-through for its staff Monday, despite being uninvited by Pelosi earlier in January.
House Democrats will still have to come to an agreement in order for Trump to give his annual address.

Pelosi is very obviously over her head. She can’t handle her own members, can’t negotiate, probably can’t remember her own name most of the time.
Expect more defections from Pelosi. The SNAP bennies run out soon.

Slotkin still thinks the job is to represent constituents. Needs to learn that Ds are there to elect a D president to appoint D supreme court justices. Those are the 5 people to make the country great and everything else is meaningless.
“Stopping Trump” is the way to make that happen (hopefully)
Not to mention....the D’s had some ‘momentum’ coming out of the midterms; and with this shutdown, Trump has seized the narrative and obliterated the D takeover of the House.

Yes, she is my representative (unfortunately) and I did give her hell. Next on the list are my two Democrap senators. Already sent an e-mail to President Trump with my full support.
Yep, the Bush era is hopefully in its death throes. Now if we can only get the remaining Bush-League flotsam and jetsam jettisoned.
