Murder a 8 month pregnant woman and you are tried for double murder and sympathy goes out to them both. Now a woman can kill her baby minutes before birth and this is state sanctioned. Sick

Then murder the baby (but not Mom) minutes after birth and you are tried for murder. Besides the sheer magnitude of immorality and depravity, it all makes absolutely zero logical sense.

Not anymore in NYS - this law does away with the murder penalty for killing the baby even if the boyfriend or husband kills the baby and the mother lives, there used to be a murder charge for the baby but not anymore.
