House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Blocks President Trump Entry into Capitol Building – Confirms State of Union Speech Cancellation…
It looks like Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi has no intention of allowing the House chamber to be used for a State of the Union address.
Speaker Pelosi has informed the House Sergeant at Arms that no executive branch official will be permitted entry into the Capitol building.
Earlier Fox News reported Pelosi cancelled a walkthrough last week, and a second request for reconsideration from the White House is expected to meet the same fate. The House Speaker controls who is, and who is not, permitted entry to the House floor. Until Speaker Pelosi calls for a vote to support a joint session of congress, the President cannot enter the chamber.

What would really tick her off is if the speech was given in the ballroom at the DCTrump Hotel or Mar a Lago. Especially Mar a Lago since she wouldn’t get an invitation.
The president is permitted to enter the House chamber at any time....Whether Trump could just get up on the dais and start delivering his State of the Union address is another question...... Nothing could physically stop Trump from speaking in the House chamber, but there is a strict set of rules governing what is allowed to take place on the floor....In order for someone to deliver formal remarks in the House of Representatives, the chamber must be “in session,” which is at the discretion of the speaker.
This is so over the top. What is WRONG with her? It’s really weird the way she is acting, almost like she is being threatened or something.
Having been barred from entry, Trump should walk down Pennsyvania Ave and give the SOTU from the steps of the Capitol building!
There’s definitely mixed thinking on this, but the general consensus among the people that matter is you need to have it somewhere dignified... It cannot just look like a rally.
So, Nancy wants to bar the entry of someone. That seems rather ironic

North Carolina’s House Speaker Tim Moore wrote a letter inviting Trump to deliver the speech in the North Carolina House chamber. And Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield on Friday invited Trump to deliver the address at the state Capitol in Lansing
Since the seating capacity is smaller than the House Chamber, attendance will necessarily be "By Invitation Only."
President Trump can deliver the SOTU from anywhere he pleases, he just needs to report to Congress, and that could be making a very nice speech from, say Idaho, and emailing the youtube URL to congress. (Or a written transcript of same).One correction, should be URL to Congress AND a written transcript of same.One thing for certain, wherever President Trump delivers the speech, the most watched SOTU in history.
Pelosi is such a narcissist that she thinks if she doesn't allow Trump to give his SOTU address in the House that he can't do it anywhere.

Executive protection for congress is done by a separate agency.
