House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Blocks President Trump Entry into Capitol Building – Confirms State of Union Speech Cancellation…
It looks like Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi has no intention of allowing the House chamber to be used for a State of the Union address.
Speaker Pelosi has informed the House Sergeant at Arms that no executive branch official will be permitted entry into the Capitol building.
Earlier Fox News reported Pelosi cancelled a walkthrough last week, and a second request for reconsideration from the White House is expected to meet the same fate. The House Speaker controls who is, and who is not, permitted entry to the House floor. Until Speaker Pelosi calls for a vote to support a joint session of congress, the President cannot enter the chamber.
Deputy White House Press Secretary Hogan Gidley discusses the status of the current shutdown negotiations and the likelihood a SOU address will have to take place outside Washington DC.
Hire 50,000 seat stadium. Invite all the Democrats. Give a I’m building the wall national emergency announcement. Name the reasonable Dems who support the wall then tear the rest a new backside. We know most of the Dems won’t show up but even if they do Trump is on a major winner.

I was in Berlin at the Reagan speech. We built a bulletproof glass wall behind the President for his address. East Berlin was the backdrop. The same could be done at a selected location at the border including a prototype of the wall he wants built. Trump can declare a state of emergency citing the reasons why we must secure the border now.

VP Mike Pence is also President of the Senate. He can extend the invitation to give the SOTU address in the Senate chamber—limited seating only.
Well, Duhhh! Trump can always come to friendly Texas and give his state of the Union presentation to a gracious audience.
The State of Texas is always Great.

Wow, amazing HATEFUL this woman is. She wants people to suffer just to beat President Trump. The wall is a necessity. She should shut Bernard filled mouth and do her job!
Nope, he can’t do any of those things, because the legislative body has complete control over their function;
the only time he has any control is, if they are adjourned, he is allowed to force them to come to work, and if they are in disagreement over adjournment, he can force them to adjourn.
He can’t touch their power, can’t go on their property, can’t arrest them while they are working or going to or from their work.
All of this is a good thing. They need to be independent, separate.

From time to time, I rewatch that speech on YT - still tingling. The back story, as you probably know, is Reagan overruled his writers who wanted him to take out that phrase.
Giving the SOTU speech on the border and announcing the National Emergency would be FAAAARRR better than giving speech in House of Rep.
