On the 46th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, Governor JB Pritzker took executive action making Illinois the most progressive state in the nation for women's reproductive rights.

"On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, I'm proud to declare under my administration, the State of Illinois will be the most progressive state in the nation when it comes to guaranteeing the right to choose for every single woman," said Governor JB Pritzker. "Thanks to the courageous advocates across our state, HB 40 is the law of the land. I was proud to stand with you in that fight, because a right is only a right if it can be exercised by everyone. And today, I'm proud to sign an executive order that will further protect and expand the right to choose in Illinois - and that will fully implement all the provisions of HB 40."

In other words kill the baby at any time for any reason including a killing baby born with only its head still in the mother by shoving scissors into its skull.

I could never understand how progressives “stand with women” by allowing the unrestricted abortion of babies...half of which are female.

As a recently retired Illinois resident, it gives me yet another reason to get out of this armpit of a state.

Pritzker is an insufferable pr!ck.

He happily expands the ability of women to kill their offspring, but is equally adamant that no American — aside from the police and the military — has any right whatsoever to keep and bear arms. He loudly proclaims that he will “take weapons of war” away from Illinois citizens. Which brings the question: Against whom are the police in Illinois planning to go to war?

Thanks for nothing Illinois GOP. There’s never been a more incompetent or complicit bunch of losers in the history of this miserable State.

“...a right is only a right if it can be exercised by everyone...”

Except law abiding gun owners. I’m afraid we are in for a rough road with this corksucker.

Reproductive rights start with your right to avoid having unprotected sex if you don’t want to have a child. Why is it that if a man father’s a child, married or not, he is legally responsible for the support of that child (i.e. he has responsibilities), but if a woman does the same, it’s her ‘right’ to avoid and ‘eliminate’ that responsibility?

You are right of course but even the slickest, best run republican organization couldn’t make a dent in these shit for brains Chicago voters.

Pritzker isn’t progressive. He doesn’t cause progress. I hope this news will help republican legislative candidates, in 2020, but many Republicans are leaving Illinois.

I fled to Indiana five years ago, but I still work in Illinois. I don’t see how Pritzker is going to make ANYTHING better. He might get his budget, but what about the massive debt? What about the pension crisis? He’s bound to be a disaster (from our point of view, anyway) on social policy. It might be an opportunity for Republicans next time (Jeanne Ives?), but I’m afraid Illinois is going to have to absolutely bottom out before there is any kind of change. Downstate is good, but it’s Chicago and the other metro areas that probably will continue to ruin things.

I wanted Rep. Ives to win, last year, but I hope that she won’t run, statewide, unless she gets other political experience. Too many Illinois Republicans lost statewide races and ran in later statewide races, thinking that their previous campaigns would help them win their later race. However, those candidates usually lost the second statewide race. That happened to Jim Oberweis, Joe Birkett, Jim Ryan, Bill Brady, Kirk Dillard, Andy McKenna, and Steve Rauschenberger.

I emailed then-Rep. Ives and asked her to run for Congress, in the 6th District. She said, “Thank you for the suggestion. I haven’t decided whether I’ll run for office in 2020/” I hope that, in 2022, the republican governor nominee will be State Rep. Tom Morrison and that the lt. gov. nominee will be State Rep. David McSweeney or State Rep. Keith Wheeler.

...because a right is only a right if it can be exercised by everyone.

Which proves abortion is NOT a right, as it cannot be exercised by half the population - men. What Pritzker is advocating is more black genocide.
