The term ‘Recon Ranger’ is used during Marine PT work-out jogging chants:
“I want to be a Recon Ranger!”
“I want to lead a life of danger!”
The actual Marine Corps position is called ‘Force Recon’.
I suppose the term ‘Recon Ranger’ was used because it rhymed with ‘danger’.................
The PT term used in that chant in the Army is “Airborne Ranger” I want to be an airborne ranger, live a life of danger.....
