en. Kamala D. Harris of California joined the 2020 presidential contest on Monday, thrusting a daughter of immigrants from Jamaica and India into the Democratic race two years after she arrived in the Senate.
Harris, a 54-year-old former prosecutor raised in a state that has been the crucible of the Trump resistance, expanded a growing field of candidates fighting for the nomination of a party that is increasingly nonwhite and fueled by women alienated by the president.
She made the announcement during an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and in a video that her campaign posted online.

Harris is NOT qualified as a Natural Born Citizen constitutionally eligible for POTUS under Article II, Section 1, clause 5.
Admittedly, the SCOTUS has never ruled directly on the meaning of “Natural Born Citizen” with regard to Article II and POTUS eligibility. But in all cases before the court bearing on citizenship wherein they offered a definition of “natural born citizen,” NONE of those definitions fit Harris’s birth provenence.
I want all those concerned about this matter to observe the near and actual hysterical demagoguery that will ensue and is directed against those of us who have the temerity to attempt to obtain “standing” so as to have the Court exercise it’s Article III oversight in this matter. What you hear will be quite instructive.
I remember well the fury directed at us because we asked questions about Obama’s birth provenance and his counterfeit birth certificate. This jive won’t be pretty either.
The 14th amendment did not alter or modify the meaning of Article II, section 1, clause 5 with regard to the POTUS eligibility requirement in any way, shape form or fashion.
Conflating the two does not create a constitutional amendment that would actually do so.

I didn't mention the 14th, or conflate it. Even before the 14th, being born in the US would make one a natural born citizen. That's what it always meant.
