Now the senate goes on-record.
I suppose Ditch thinks it’s safe legislation to bring up for a vote as it is not likely to pass and there will still not be anymore Wall building after this Scene in the DC Kabuki Theater concludes.
You think this is a victory? It’s a betrayal, it’s an amnesty
Stop playing games Mitch, you coward, and dump the filibuster “rule”.
It is as old and dusty as your wife.
I think they have a chance of getting 60 votes in the Senate. If Mitch didn’t think so, I don’t think he would bring it to the floor for a vote.
They’ll get the amnesty and we’ll get the shaft, again.
“fund border security”
I don’t see the word ‘wall’ here.
Watch out for this. A bill that couples DACA with the wall can pass the senate, go to the house and be changed and passed, then it goes to resolution. That’s where they strip out the wall and give us DACA anyway. Both sides would love to snooker Trump that way.
He can do this and still keep the (D)'s feet to the fire for the 5.7 Billion, meaning, until the (D)'s agree to spend the money designated specifically for the wall the (D)'s are the party who really own the government shut-down.
Trump owns the security high ground, as he builds the wall and as he holds out for the (D)'s to appropriate money for the wall.
While (D)'s delay, their local constituency in DC (who no one else except for Metro DC cares about) start yelling at Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and Steny is beginning to crack ... "The Wall is not immoral ..."
Trump holds all the cards, and for him it is win-win: Congress votes for the wall = (D)'s lost the pissing match. (D)'s fail to vote for it = gov't remains shut, DC's Federal termites continue to go unpaid and are soon on the verge of riot, and the (D)'s go on fighting with each other internally, until they surrender any way.
Meanwhile the wall gets built anyway.
Brilliant brinksman-ship.
Well-played Mr. President.
FReegards!
Schumer has at least 10 Dims that DO NOT WANT TO VOTE on this bill.
Deal is off the table. Dims said so. Too bad, so sad.
The article doesn’t say explicitly that the bill funds building the wall. Anybody know for sure?
