When the Buzzfeed story broke, I didn’t really give it much attention. We the reading public, have been saturated with all sorts of outrageous accusations about our president.
To me, this was but another ‘Chicken Little’ event of faux hysteria. I am now conditioned to disregard most articles like that one.
The only difference here, was that the story became disowned and disproven very quickly. I think “MuleHead’ disowned the article within the same day, much to the Libs disappointment.

What I would like to know is why the Special Councils Office was allowed to break into Cohens office and seize files, despite Client Lawyer privilege, but can’t break into a third rate magazine and seize files. We need to know who is leaking.
Certainly this took the wind out of Nancy’s sails. No longer a Trump card.
I just don’t trust any of these Deep State Clowns. There’s some larger purpose going on.
This is poor reporting, they just cannot bring themselves to give up the set of facts that allow the impeachment narrative to live another day. Cohen is going to jail for five counts of tax evasion and has incidentally pleaded guilty to lying to congress and campaign finance violations. Cohen invoiced Trump’s organization for things that he did not deliver. The fact that the Deputy Attorney General “inquired” about their response and then they had the time to respond was interesting. It is easy to speculate that there are many more things to which they have chosen not to respond.
Mark Levin’s take: The BuzzFeed article would open up an FBI probe of leaking from the Mueller operation, as only his team could be the source of such information. Mueller sought quickly to kill that possibility.
This article is fair. What we had was a complicit conspiracy to lie and smear our President. It was not just BUZZFEED ( who also published Hillary’s Dossier obtained from the Russians) , it was the leftist media which jumped on under the statement “ IF TRUE” it was impeachment time. It was all a smear.Actually it was a malicious slander for which they should be sued for $billions and economically destroyed. Cohen denied this story through his lawyers!! How can you go with this contrived nonsense without Cohen. Cohen is a dirty rat!! Even he was repulsed and realized that he would have to lie to Congress to push this narrative. Did you know that “IF TRUE” that hillary killed Vince Foster, she could be executed after trial? I have now concluded that this has so destroyed the Fake News enemy of the people that they will never recover. They are gasping for the air of credibility and it is just not there anymore.
The media is making itself irrelevant by destroying its own credibility.
My guess is that Bob Barr called up Mueller and asked him to comment on this. Barr said to Mueller “You should not let this lie go unchallenged.”
WP said that Buzzfeed said than anonymous sources in the Special Prosecutor’s office said that Michael Cohen, under duress, said that Donald Trump said that he should perjure himself. Scandalous! They got Trump for sure this time!
Now WP says that the Special Prosecutor’s office says never mind: Cohen didn’t say that Trump said that, exactly, or maybe at all. What a relief!
Reading the posts there, it’s like witnesses at an accident. They see things totally different. Nothing else matters but getting rid of Trump. That’s why the cannot ever get rid of Trump. They are dangerous.
I disagree. It's ordinary for a news story to state the 'meme' of the article in the first one or two sentences. This attracts readers and also gives them the meat of the story.
The meme here, at least in the sentences you excerpted, is that Trump ordered Cohen to lie to congress. That's the opposite of reality, and not even the supposed purpose of the article. You have to get well into the story to learn the truth. Someone skimming the article introduction gets the opposite impression.
The WP is trying to salvage their reputation by carefully parsing events.
I believe the WP is trying to find a way to justify the medias' overreaction to the BF article while trying to keep it alive by implying it may be true.
In fact they KNOW it's true (it so fits the MSM narrative it HAS to be true). They just haven't figured out why Mueller threw them under the bus.
We'll have to wait to see what comes next...
