Also, if it freezes before the rain stops, it could cause the tree branches to ice up and break the limbs. You sure don’t need that...you’re still cleaning up after the tornado!

We had one of those kinds of ice storms 3 years ago, and nearly every tree in town lost branches...big ones. The ice was so thick I couldn’t knock ir off like I usually do to relieve the branches of the weight. Luckily, though, we only lost one small branch.

The rain stopped already and it looks like the snow is going to stay north of us. We’ve already hit 32 degrees and the deck was slippery when I went out to bring the rain gauge inside.

No ice storm this time, thank goodness. Been through that before. Just slippery surfaces until Monday.

Gonna be super-bundle-up-time tomorrow night when I go out to look at the lunar eclipse.
