No I am saying there is a big difference in giving some one who has been here for years a three year extension is not the same as someone who is admitted for a specific time period, of course it could all come out the same if no one cares like you seem not to.
Time was(Before Trump) on FreeRepublic when Freepers all recognized that any deal that let illegals stay was de facto amnesty. Times change.
It is probably because Freepers have come to realize that we will NEVER get these invaders OUT of our country, the most we can hope for at this time is to STOP THE BLEEDING!!! Trump is honestly TRYING to stop the bleeding EVERY other damn POTUS including Reagan has just left the borders WIDE OPEN the country be damned BIG DONORS RULE!!!
You mean before Obama? Obama chose to not enforce the deportation law. But he went a step further and granted the DACA "legal" status. Whether you like it or not, they were given legal* status (*subject to Supreme Court review and that court just snubbed Trump). So Trump tried to withdraw their legal status, and some judges stopped him. Trump obeys all juducial orders whether he likes them or not. They are still here legally
TIme was, freepers had a sense of perspective. They would look at a million or so DACA who have now registered and been granted work permits. They would look at another million every year that have no particular skills and are brought in without any regard to skills. They would ask themselves, what's the bigger problem. The DACA or the continuing importation of low/no skill people.
Yes, another amnesty will be bad, no question about it. This is not it, just a postponement, but it will happen. And the best we can do is trade some reforms and some permanent border security for that amnesty. We can easily be screwed again just like the last couple decades. But Trump knows that we were screwed and is trying to get as much reform and as much permanent security as possible.
