I agree-this is a non-starter for dems, because Pres Trump’s DACA carrot only offers “legal status”-as in resident alien status or green card/work permit-it does NOT offer citizenship/voting rights or EBT cards-the people would have to work, like the rest of us.
I was born and raised on a ranch in W Texas near the border-I’m a Texan/American of Hispanic ancestry-and I do not know a single person of Hispanic ancestry-family, friends, neighbors, business associates, anyone-who wants mojados in Texas or anyplace else in the USA-the only people who want illegals to stay here and be citizens/voters are the mojados themselves and democrats-the rest of us want la migra to put them into that green van and drive them all back across the border...
It depends. If this is a path to citizenship for DACA criminals in return for the Wall, it’s a disaster. If this is no DACA deportations this year because Trump will prioritize deporting other illegals who are here in criminal violation of our immigration laws, and in return we get the Wall, that’s a good trade for us.
