1. The price in return has to be very high (like $25B for the wall and major changes to our chain immigration and asylum laws).
2. The DACA immigrants have to be given a path that leads to permanent residency status, not citizenship.
700,000 has already morphed into 1.8 million, by the time they get finished we’ll have amnestied all 30 million.
Trump has been saying over and over there can be no DACA until the SCOTUS decision on it. Doesn’t anyone pay attention?
Most of these DACA are now in their 30’s..they are NO longer children..now President Trump did say a few years ago he was fine with allowing 2 million of these “Dreamers” citizenship, but the Dems refused it..if they refused it then, and no wall was even mentioned..they will NOT go for it now..Dems want open borders, for future Dem voters, that simple

Actually, it’s a good idea. I know some very decent non-citizens who have lived here for years, never collected welfare, have good, productive children, etc. The problem was years ago with our screwy immigration laws, which only got worse after Obama. In his first month in office, he issued an EO taking off a percentage of the Latin American quota and giving it to people “from Muslim lands,” as he put it. So legitimate Latin American workers couldn’t come in legally but Islamic trrrorists could.
Time to straighten things out.

Trump is not going to trade DACA for an amount of money that will construct not much more than 160 miles of steel barrier. Realistically 5.7 billion is not going to get him much more than that.
Now, if the trade were for, let’s say. 40 or 50 billion, then maybe a DACA trade would be in the cards. But not for a paltry 5 billion.
