On Thursday afternoon, President Trump informed Speaker Pelosi her "public relations" trip to Afghanistan, Egypt, and Brussels has been postponed so that she can stay in DC and negotiate with him.
The President canceled Pelosi's flight just one hour before she was scheduled to depart - Pelosi and other lawmakers were on the bus en route to the airport.

Pelosi's bus was seen circling the US Capitol after the flights were grounded.
It was a rough day for Democrats.

Pelosi thought she could sneak out of town and avoid any controversy leading up to the SOTU speech. Trump put the Prison Spotlight on her. Now it doesn’t matter what she does, stay in town or leave town, the whole world is watching.

Pres Trump showed all Americans just how corrupted our govt has become. A tax funded trip by members of elected congress persons and their leader to speak to foreign leaders about exactly what? These same elected persons were leaving the posts they were elected to serve on in behalf of their voters, during a govt shutdown which they refuse to deal with. There is nothing they could have accomplished by transporting themselves abroad that could not have been done by electronic means. We have ambassadors that can take care of the niceties and various US govt agencies who specialize in negotiations pertaining to any situation. How on earth did our govt get to the point where legislators abandon their post and duties to vacation abroad at huge public expense while their govt is shut down because they refuse to address the border safety of their own country? All govt paid travel needs to be shut down for these congress persons until some reasonable standards are in place. The govt rot continues to be exposed by Pres Trump. It is so deep and corrosive that nothing is above suspicion and there is a natural double think about all things coming from govt leaders in both parties.
