The shutdown is about to get a lot uglier. No way in hell Pelosi allows herself to be treated like this. Whatever chance there might have been to get some sort of agreement on the wall has likely been shelved for quite some time.
So if only Trump would be nice to Nancy she would give him the wall?
Seriously?
OR, she and UpChuck Schumer figure out that they are losing this, and they’d better look for their “exit strategy”....

Trump still has the RIF card to play...
Actually, this can be a great negotiating tactic when dealing with certain types of people (sociopaths).
If you humiliate them badly enough they will make a deal just to end the suffering. She lost face big time—and won’t want it to happen again.
That must be Trump’s read of Nancy—I trust his analysis on this one.
The time is now, and this is the hill to die on. If we lose this battle, we lose the country. Trump has absolutely nothing to lose. He could even keep the government shut down leading up to the 2020 election. The battle(s) are being waged on the margins. No way the DNC doesn't fund the DoD and primary social services.
Rather, it's all about the 20% of the budget that is somewhat discretionary. So, the race is on to find out who can dish out and handle the pain: government workers, or the private sector inconvenienced with curtailed public services like the TSA. The problem for proglibs is that this is devolving into a classic business decision process, which is absolutely in Trump's wheelhouse. Once can imagine top DNC advisors worrying about violating one of Alinsky's key mandates, which is never to go outside one's experience.
As a result, Trump is faced with classic substitution tactics, such as privatizing various functions like the aforementioned TSA. Once he goes down this path, as well as starting to issue RIFs on furloughed and redundant "workers", he will have no incentive whatsoever to negotiate under terms that aren't absolutely advantageous to his position.
What this showdown really illustrates is that both sides possess certain strengths. The government knows how to play the lawfare game (courts, DOJ/FBI, etc), but Trump knows how to play the media & business game. Why the proglibs gave up their natural advantage is probably due to the fact that Mueller doesn't have anything at all. So, now they thought they could politicize the budget shutdown, not realizing that it was trivial for Trump to reverse the effect and box it in as a business challenge.
Either way, these are all subsidiary theaters vying for control in order to determine final outcome of the country: one with borders and controlled demographics, or one wide open to a foreign invasion and defeat of existing constitutional foundations.

Well beyond 30 days.... RIF
Dead wrong. The Democrats were always going to throw everything at keeping the border wide open no matter what it took.
...and I’m guessing it’s by design.
It was shelved by Nazi and Chuck U. Long before this. Please try and keep up.
It might be Trumps plan to get her so crazy that she does something stupid.
Yup......This could get really bad.
Trump said he was OK with it taking a year.
So am I, even the most dunderheaded non-essential federal employee will have self-RIFed after 52 weeks without a paycheck!
That's one way to shrink this bloated government!
+. It is going to escalate dramatically today(Friday). Rumor is Schmucky is about to lose it also. Should be a fun day.
