The article doesn’t say what political party the two ladies belonged to. So I’m going to guess that they are Whigs. Or maybe members of the old Greenback Party. Those folks are always up to no good.
Any Democrat resigning from any political post is a real man-bites-dog story. Newsworthy, almost unbelievable.
