“In the mean time, I’m back flying.”

Really? I didn’t think one could pass the medical after a heart attack. I’ve been stuck on the ground for five years. Maybe I didn’t have to be?

You can get it back. The FAA has lightened up a bit.

I have to take a nuclear stress test every August. And provide results from a current full spectrum blood test along with some nice words from my cardiologist. Also helps to have a good AME!!! The AME reviews everything before it is sent in to make sure there are no problems or missing bits.

The medical stuff is expensive but worth it.

My 16 year old son is doing his cross country work now. He should be ready to do the written in March and his check ride soon after. We were gearing it so he could get his check ride on his seventeenth birthday in March, but he’ll be a month or two late.
