A Methodist church is causing controversy this week with a message targeting President Trump, suggesting his push for a border wall is racist against people who are not white.
The sign in front of the Allendale United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida, states: “White supremacy is the real crisis.”
“We really wanted to respond to our president who is taking this opportunity to manufacture a crisis at the border,” Rev. Andy Oliver at the church told WFLA-TV.
He told the station he sought to extend a message of love and acceptance to those who see the placard.
“Targeting people of color, making them the enemy. Things like walls are symptoms of misdirected fear,” he said.
The church says on its Facebook page:
Our new sign is inspired by these powerful words from our friends at enfleshed: Disrupt lies that destroy. Proclaim the truths that set free: White supremacy is the crises. Resistance must be the response. Welcome is the answer. Walls are symptoms of misdirected fear. The US Empire is the terror. Let us remember how we got here. Let us interrupt “empire’s amnesia.” Let us commit to forging paths of embrace, of repair, of sanctuary, of collective care, of intervention. May the Spirit of Liberation be our guide.

I hear ya. I was baptized as an Episcopalian but I wouldn’t set foot in that church today. When my mom passed away a few years ago I got to deal with some folks at the catholic church. Way different than I remember it.

As opposed to targeting white Americans, which is okay by this fool.
I wonder if he ever locks his doors. If he does he is a hypocrite.

It’s the white christians of Great Britain who planted the seeds of progress and achievement in their cornerstone document called the magna carta. It was that cornerstone that gave the world civilization, inventions, achievements and success.

I looked up this guy. He is a textbook example of the leftist/community organizer type who found a venue for his work in the church. He’s on the “right side” of all the issues (as, of course, Jesus would be), and decks himself out in rainbow stoles.
There’s no such thing as “white supremacy”. It’s a made up construct by the communist left to use race as a bludgeon against all white people.
It’s the same old adage. You can’t make one group look better by castigating another. It just makes the whining group look petty and insignificant.
Racism is the left’s favorite weapon so they need to remake into various different forms to keep using it as people become wise to their nonsense.
If there’s anything/anyone lower than a leftist (including rapists and murderers); I haven’t been able to find them yet.
Whew.....Methodists. For a second I thought this may have been a Christian church mouthing this nonsense.
