A legislative proposal in Connecticut would mandate instruction on climate change in public schools statewide, beginning in elementary school.
Connecticut already has adopted science standards that call for teaching of climate change, but if the bill passes it is believed that it would be the countrys first to write such a requirement into law.
A lot of schools make the study of climate change an elective, and I dont believe it should be an elective, said state Rep. Christine Palm, a Democrat from Chester who proposed the bill. I think it should be mandatory, and I think it should be early so theres no excuse for kids to grow up ignorant of whats at stake.
Some educators have questioned whether its necessary in light of Connecticuts adoption in 2015 of the Next Generation Science Standards, which include climate change as a core aspect of science education beginning in middle school.
I do believe if the state has adopted standards, youre teaching those standards, youre going to be assessed on those standards, said Fran Rabinowitz, executive director of the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents. If youre a district in Connecticut, your curriculum is addressing it already.

What happened to the separation of church and state?
So, when a student turns in a SCIENTIFIC paper, documenting the fraud of AGW, they get an “A”, right?
The problem I see with this that here’s another class that you might have to sacrifice your principles to get a passing grade. Plus the fact that having a class like this that is just a matter of someone’s opinion is not a real learning experience, but takes time away from what could be used for legitimate subjects.
If I were a teacher I would teach about Piltdown man and Trofim Lysenko at the same time.
Typical of LIB-idiot “educators”. Abusing young children’s minds to advance their pathetic, misinformed political agenda. Putting you child into government education is child abuse. Who knew?
“”I think it should be early so theres no excuse for kids to grow up ignorant of whats at stake.””
I can think of a better course that should be taught. Teach kids how dangerous lawmakers can be...
“”What happened to the separation of church and state?””
What on earth does that idiotic proposal have to do with that?
“”Typical of LIB-idiot educators.””
Looks to me like the “educators” are not in favor of the idea - it’s a legislator’s proposal and they appear to be against it! AND rightly so!
Man made climate change is based on faith
