And on the global stage, we face two colossi — India and China — which, with their billions, are projected to outstrip American economic hegemony within two decades.

How will we ever compete with such giants?

Why do millions want to leave India and China to come here and not the other way around?

Tried to read the article but kept getting interrupted to throw up in my mouth - repeatedly.

Plus, it just makes my blood boil.

Not clicking it.

So okay, let’s run with the theory for a moment that we need more immigration. Even if so, should we just let anyone come, willy-nilly, without any vetting, source nation quotas, or standards?

Why did Red China have a one child only policy? Because they thought they already had too many people! Clearly the issue is not one of not enough people but one of not enough liberty! It’s RATs that are the greatest threat to freedom! When RATs lose, we win!

Silly question. Once we are over-run with barbarians, we will not be 'we' anymore.

Here’s what happens with completely open borders.

Hordes of individuals swarm for the USA. They flock to “sanctuary” cities where they will be well received. They demand food, money, lodging and a smartphone. The cities have to raise taxes and demand money from the states. The states have to raise taxes and demand money from the federal government. Taxes are raised to a point that removes all incentive to work hard and be productive.

Governments start confiscating property and bank accounts of those who still are under the delusion that they “own” them.

The massive hordes do not work. They have a lot of time on their hands. They breed like rabbits. They demand more. They riot. They attack the unfortunate individuals who walk around while White. Crime rises over the level of Mexico City.

The democrats who gave us this get high salaries, live behind walls, and have armed protection.

Wait! all that has already happened!

Hey, slimes - how about removing security from your headquarters?

Open the doors and elevator banks - let everyone in - there a quite a number of homeless (and likely a bunch of illegal immigrants) across the street at Port Authority.

See how that feels.

What they always refuse to admit is that with all the freebies we give out to everyone who pretty much asks for it, there is no way we could afford to allow unlimited immigration into America, because we would go completely broke within a few years.

And if we didn’t go completely broke, we would have a huge Civil War between a group of people made up of wannabe Dictators, give me my free government cheese people and Socialists pitted against Americans (and a few of those immigrants) who actually want FREEDOM!

Let’s also remember there’s the consideration of assimilating immigrants and making them educated, grateful, and law-abiding citizens of the Republic. If the very first act of getting here is willfully breaking the law; and then the second act is largely refusing to assimilate their language and culture, then the answer is overwhelmingly “no”.

From the article:

“Although America’s borders were open for much of its history — if your ancestors came here voluntarily, there’s a good chance it was thanks to open borders — “

Ok then let’s provide the social services that were provided to my ancestors. They were brought over from Ireland to build the railroad from Minneapolis to Seattle. They were “given” 160 acres in South Dakota and lived in a sod house buried into the prairie. No Section 8, no EBT card, no Medicaid, no nothing.

Democrats are ordering their minions to get out there and walk the plank with their credibility.

Let them march their whole army over this cliff like lemmings.

Well, not completely open. There was that whole Ellis Island thing. If you showed up with a communicable disease, no means of support, no hope of making a living, they sent you back to where you came from.

YOUR ancestors & MINE came here LEGALLY-—

They were processed thru Ellis Island.
They had health screenings.
They had to produce substantial documents proving who they really were.
They had to have money to live on.
They had to have a ‘sponsor’ or a place to live.
They had to have a job or a means to support themselves.

THEY ALSO had to sign a paper that clearly stated that they WOULD NOT BECOME A WARD OF THE STATE-—the language of the day that equals WELFARE & other tax supported giveaway programs today.

You re attempting to compare apples to onions.

Get your facts straight or quit trying to be an author.

From the article:

“The system assumes that people born outside our borders are less deserving of basic rights than those inside.”

Well yes. American citizens are protected by the Constitution of the United States. Many Americans have fought and died to preserve those protections.
