On Thursday, the day of the official swearing-in of the 116th Congress, the Congressional Black Caucus swore in its own group of members, a total of 55 ― its largest number in history.
This year’s CBC surpasses its previous record of 49 House and Senate members in the 115th Congress.
“With the largest caucus in history... the CBC is poised to play a leading role in standing up to the Trump Administration and pressing forward on key issues like protecting voting rights and the Affordable Care Act,” executive director Kevin Harris said by email.

Makes me want to puke.
I wish someone would start a Congressional White Caucus not just to antagonize the bigots on the left, but to jump start a badly needed open and hones discussion on race.
It needs to be demonstrated it is they who are the true racists; the true bigots.
Shock treatment is the best medicine in this case.
The CBC is all about promoting and sustaining segregation. This is supposed to be illegal, so why are they allowed to use any public taxpayer funded resources to do their illegal activities? It appears to me that a federal lawsuit would prevent this. For starters they should not be allowed to caucus in any government owned building. None of their congressional
employees should even be allowed to make a phone call on behalf of the CBC while on the clock. The list is endless.
All members of congress should petition to join the CBC in the interest of helping everyone. If they are denied, then they should sue for race discrimination. If every member of Congress is eligible to join, and does, then the purpose of the CBC becomes moot.
Oh look a race only political group.
Yet some whites will run around in circles if the GOP gets called racist.

Whites better wake up and realize that every other racial group is watching out for their interests, so they better start doing the same for theirs, and not be cowed by being called racists.
