President George W. Bush on Compassionate Conservatism
GWB Institute ^ | 2018 | William McKenzie

Posted on 01/17/2019 1:25:07 AM PST by granada

Compassionate conservatism remains as relevant today as when President George W. Bush campaigned for president on its principles in 2000. In this conversation, President Bush takes a deep dive into the philosophy. From helping displaced workers at home through economic policy, to defending the oppressed overseas, to ensuring a quality education for all, the core responsibility of government is to care for its people.

"I do think respect and civility are possible. Ultimately, wise leaders are going to sense this feeling of frustration among voters and rise above all of this. For example, when Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and I went to a golf tournament, a picture was taken of us and the public reaction was, Wow, isn’t this wonderful that people can get along. I think there’s a craving for it apart from those who benefit from division.

But the system is structured so that division wins. Primaries are the main determinant of the general election in most districts. A small group of insurgents can upset the status quo pretty quickly."

GWB: socialist.

The primary purpose of government is to defend God-given freedoms and liberties.

“Compassionate conservatism” is what led to Obama the Usurper taking the White House.

GW is possibly too stupid to realize that conservatives know that he has almost everything in common with Clinton/Obama, and virtually nothing in common with conservatives.

William McKenzie, GFY! GW Boosh is a feckless man who sold out his country. The only “relevant thing here” is that he is finally irrelevant!

Just another liberal from the Northeast who tried to pass himself off as something else.

Born: July 6, 1946 New Haven, CT

Never saw someone work so hard to destroy their support in office early on.

Compassionate conservatism (as if the tenets of conservatism are too harsh) is warmed-over big governmentalism as espoused by that Quisling, Jack Kemp.

GWB....the guy who purposely left our borders open after 9/11 & allowed 20 million invaders to crash our country.

GBW.....A feckless, strange man who said nothing as Obama & the left savaged him, but jumped ugly down Trump’s throat right when he took office.

I supported him as president, and semi-supported him when he failed to respond to Obama... and now I see him as a very bad person.

Either I was wrong all the time, or he changed. I don't know. It is what it is.

GWB: A seemingly low-intellect, alcohol-impaired, liberal socialist/globalist who had little understanding of main street.

That lowlife had the dumb luck to run against two of the least charismatic dopes to ever run for for POTUS and it was a photo finish both times. His old man ran against number 3.

Easy to be “compassionate” with OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY while living BEHIND A WALL, IN AN EXCLUSIVE NEIGHBORHOOD, SURROUNDED AND GUARDED 24/7 BY A SMALL ARMY OF A R M E D SECRET SERVICE AGENTS

Yuck. By giving the Clintons and all their conspiring underlings a FREE PASS, he set the table for what the FBI has now become.

Not to mention his Open Borders.
