That’s what I think he should do. It worked out so well for the Dems last time...and they won’t be able to forego an embarrassing reprise rebuttal.

SOTU from the Oval Office.

Absolutely not. There would be no audience. Trump excels in front of a live crowd. An oval office speech would be dreadful to watch.

“SOTU from the Oval Office.”

Too low key in my opinion. I love President Trump, but when he speaks to a camera without a live audience, he comes off as a bit uninspired. He needs a live audience to be at his best.

Also, the pomp and circumstance of the SOTU is a special honor and a show of respect for the President of the United States - which the Democrats are attempting to deprive President Trump of. He should not let them get away with it.

There is no reason the SOTU requires an invitation from the House majority. That is a tradition, not a law. The Senate could host it, or even the House Minority for that matter.

As for the venue, the Democrats do not have authority over what happens in the Capitol Building. General Services Administration is an Executive Branch agency.

If he can’t arrange for the Senate to host the event, I hope he does something even grander - even more stately. A 20,000 person rally would be fun, but I would rather see him find a way to thwart their attempt at disrespecting him - namely, by going ahead with the SOTU despite the Demcrats’ petty rudeness.

“SOTU from the Oval Office.” Yes, or from the Senate chambers with those Representatives that wish to attend in the visitors gallery.
