I'm sure that was his original plan, which is why Nancy doesn't want it to happen.
A reporter on Fox read some Article from the Constitution, that only says he must provide information “from time to time”. It didn’t say how, when, or where.
IIRC, from Washington to Jefferson, it was a speech and Jefferson ended that and submitted it writing. From Jefferson to Wilson it was in writing and Wilson began speeches again.
Carter and Reagan gave SOTU in writing (Reagan because of Challenger issue).
So Trump can do it how, when or where he wants to.

That’s why I am of the opinion that she’s having a course of “the green apple quickstep” as this is being written. Trump is so unpredictable, she has no idea from which direction the “incoming” is coming! I love it!
My two farthings: if POTUS should decide to do the SOTU in writing, the media will have the opportunity to redact from their coverage whatever hurts the demz.
Therefore it MUST be televised, for patriots to see it. Undoubtedly the leftist spin will still occur wherever he decides to broadcast it from.
Many have replied with the idea of a rally. I think that is a great idea!
Of course, the media will attack anyway, saying the voters in ANY State Trump carried in the election, do not represent Americans... this should be fun!

But it doesn’t stipulate when, where, or how. “From time to time” leaves it pretty open and puts the ball totally in Trump’s court; Pelosi really has no say in the matter. (Suck it, Nancy!)

Obviously Hoyer didn’t realize he had to read the letter in order to know what was in it. What a doofus. Look like an ass much?
