House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday urged President Donald Trump in a letter to either reschedule his State of the Union address or deliver it in writing to Congress while the government continues to be partially shut down.

For nearly 100 years the Speaker has INVITED POTUS to give the SOU before a joint session of congress.

Yes, it is. And I am surprised (sort of) that few others here have noted this. Pelosi is moving into territory that we don’t want to go into. Governments have fallen on things starting like this...
I like the idea, but I wonder if the security apparatus could handle that with the furlough.
Who does she think she is?
Trump should go tell her to pound sand.
If he gives it to congress, nobody will know for sure what it actually said.
They’ll butcher it and then give us what they want us to hear.

She did invite him and is now trying to back out of it. Is that protocol, too? And she has gone beyond the invite.
IF Pelosi does something like that, Trump will deliver a speech that will blister her hide. And the hides of her cohorts.
IF he does it from the White House, I would like to see LARGE photos of Pelosi’s house-—WITH HER WALL—and others in Congress who have walls or high fences on easels behind the President. That kind of visual really hits home with the citizens.
Pelosi is even more out of control with her double standards.
Would love to see him hold it in a forum where the public can come & witness it first hand. Not many places available like that on short notice, and he has to be safe.
A written copy should be given to the officials of the National Archives-—AFTER he has given the speech. Along with a copy of the video.
I wouldn’t let any of the Dems have anything in writing they can tamper with-—and we here at FR all know that such a tampering would be too hard to resist.

You can bet that there will not be one less security person necessary to insure the safety of the President and members of Congress.
PHOTOS of Pelosi’s WALL & other Congressional critter domiciles with walls & fences should be displayed on easels behind the President.

Someone else suggested Angel Moms .... after Pelosi would not meet with them when they came to her office, I like that idea. It would all but guarantee she wouldn’t show up.
Usually, the speech is known prior to the delivery. Bet that won’t happen this time around.
