Karen Pence, wife of Vice President Mike Pence, started at a job this week teaching art at Immanuel Christian School in Northern Virginia. It’s not a school where everyone is welcome. In a “parent agreement” posted online, the school says it will refuse admission to students who participate in or condone homosexual activity. The 2018 employment application also makes candidates sign a pledge not to engage in homosexual activity or violate the “unique roles of male and female.”
“Moral misconduct which violates the bona fide occupational qualifications for employees includes, but is not limited to, such behaviors as the following: heterosexual activity outside of marriage (e.g., premarital sex, cohabitation, extramarital sex), homosexual or lesbian sexual activity, polygamy, transgender identity, any other violation of the unique roles of male and female, sexual harassment, use or viewing of pornographic material or websites,” says the application.
The application says that the school believes “marriage unites one man and one woman” and that “a wife is commanded to submit to her husband as the church submits to Christ.” The application asks potential employees to explain their view of the “creation/evolution debate.”

Hard to say. Sessions, is a good indian, and I think he like many others, were attracted to Trump’s charisma and appeal. I am sure he made Sessions feel like a real man, but with that, Sessions exposed his weakness.
He was great on defending the rights of people, and on immigrations, but very very very weak in going after anyone.

I know it sounds petty and foolish and outlandish but whoever thought smoking would be banned outdoors or in your home(apartment)?
I choose not to smoke and discourage people from smoking in my vehicle or home. That is my choice as a long time smoker and finally realized the stink etc that comes with smoking.

There have been a number of cases in the US where liberal bullies attempted to undermine and shut down these schools.
A homosexual shows up with their kid to register, typically a cute kindergartner. The family tries to enroll the child. If declined, they sue for discrimination. If admitted, they use the kid’s supposed hurt feelings to sue to try to force the school to change its teachings.

Through the years the ‘minority’ in the barrel found ways to get out of it, but if you are Black, you are Black and just dropping or changing a vowel in your name has no effect.
My point is supposed to be that discrimination is discrimination - that the government gets to pick and choose is not quite right - since WE are the government.

The ‘Black Caucus’ basically discriminates against ‘Black’ non Ds or tends to make is so uncomfortable against R Blacks that they don’t want to join.
If I own a restaurant and designate seating areas by Race or Creed etc my days as a restauranteer are going to be short...even if the customers segregate themselves by choice, I may still be in ‘trouble’.

In a publicly held business, yes it would be discrimination. But we are talking about a private Christian school here. They have the right to make sure employees and students are walking the walk and living a Christian lifestyle.
So - she has Christian values and believes students with same values deserve a good education...if only the “schools” without same values also concentrated on a true education the world would be much better off - as would the students.
I believe this same ‘discussion’ was being carried on inre VMI and/or The Citadel.

Yes, I agree, the private school should be able to have its own standards but today (or in the last administration) such Catholic stalwarts covered up statues and such when a certain pol spoke.

It’s a Christian school. Unless you’re in some branch of Christianity that ignores scripture, it’s a given that hetero marriage is the only way to do it. Why this hand waving outrage?
