Hard to say. Sessions, is a good indian, and I think he like many others, were attracted to Trump’s charisma and appeal. I am sure he made Sessions feel like a real man, but with that, Sessions exposed his weakness.
He was great on defending the rights of people, and on immigrations, but very very very weak in going after anyone.
I think as soon as he got the idea from the Deep State, that he better stay out of it, he realized he was over his head,
He tried to cover this up by being tough and active on the border, and fighting drugs and MS-13s, but he would never rise to the occasion of taking on the FBI scoundrels, people like Brennan, Clapper and of course Hillary.
At some point I think the road leads to Obama.
SO, Trump asks the people around him. “Okay, obviously I need the strongest junk yard dog attorney general who’s ever been, respected by both sides, and someone who will actually gets things done for me, by fighting these two bit federal judges, and of course the deep state around me. Someone who will looks honestly at Mueller, and in fact, give Mueller pause, before he steps to close me. Who should I pick?”
William Barr, is the perfect choice.
Trump is more brilliant by who he hires and fires. A man with no fear. REally a culmination of all Americans.
He’s really NOT a republican or democrat or independent. Like Lincoln, he is truly a man of the people...
Really amazing....
I do think that Sessions was quickly convinced by the Deep State (early on, but exactly when is not clear) that he better stay out of it. I have no doubt that the Deep State uses ALL of the resources at its disposal to intimidate, if not blackmail, people into cooperating with them. This probably goes on a lot in DC, which is inhabited by ambitious and greedy people who are willing to put whatever principles they may have once had on the shelf if it means advancing their career in the Swamp. So they are easy to convince.
As far as Trump’s hiring brilliance is concerned I would disagree with you on that. He has hired some real duds. Tillerson comes immediately to mind but he’s not the only one. That said, I greatly admire Trump’s fighting spirit and drive to serve the people instead of moneyied interests and the Deep State. His daily battles with the media are a nice bonus.
I donated quite a bit to his campaign. I never imagined the “payoff” would be as good as it has been.
