Blueplum, makes a valid point. In Spanish it says, you take the Silver or take the Lead. The Silver Money, or the Lead bullet. It sometimes is a two way street and it works both ways. I wonder if Peña Nieto ever divulged that he got this money, and used it to wipe out the narcos.

It should be easy enough for a good money sleuth to check whether this is true. But don’t just assume that it is.

If there is no actual state control South of our border, shall we continue to leave the border wide open to the murderous drug lords for shipping fentanyl and enslaved hookers?

And then there are the judges, police etc. remember when I was collecting material on the corruption in Chicago* (decades and decades of) it’s worse now.
Started this when BO first took office Notice some of the names are the same

*post 17 from Wikipedia

...”Operation Greylord was an investigation conducted jointly with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the IRS Criminal Investigation Division into corruption in the judiciary of Cook County, Illinois (the Chicago region).
The operation took place in the 1980s. Ninety-two people were indicted, including 17 judges, 48 lawyers, ten deputy sheriffs, eight policemen, eight court officials, and a member of the Illinois Legislature...”

“If true, they suggest that corruption by drug cartels had reached into the highest level of Mexico’s political establishment.”

Sort of like the Obama years.

Yes, this is likely petty cash compared to what Obama and the Clintons have squirreled away from various illicit sources.

The Russians gave $145 million to the Clintons and unknown amount to obama though I suspect Netflix and the book publishers are laundering the money. The Chinese gave many millions. Our justice system is the same as Mexico. The Clintons and obamas are still free.

He is a piker compared to Carlos Salinas, a former president of Mexico from 1988 to 1994.

SWISS police have questioned the role of Carlos Salinas, a former president of Mexico now exiled in Dublin, in a $500m pay off for arranging safe passage of tons of cocaine destined for the US.

Funny how all of the Mexican Presidents are lily-White.

Racism is a daily facet of Mexican Society. Indians are at the bottom and whites are at the top.

My Mexican wife is much darker than her sisters. In social circles in Mexico her sisters were much more acceptable then her. Her dad was totally white and her mom had quite a bit of Indian blood thus the children ranged from very light to dark.

now we know how much it costs to buy a mexican President. The real bosses who run the state are the Drug Cartel. This is why Mexico will go Communist in the future—Idealists thugs can not be bought.

Maybe. But Hugo was supposedly an idealistic thug and turned out to be very much a criminal. FARC were supposedly communists but very much involved with the drug trade.

Not arguing, but I have no faith that a communist Mexico will exit the drug trade. But I agree with you that as Mexicans lose faith in their government they are demanding a turn to the left. But the left will turn out to be as corrupt as the rest. Sort of like our leftists. Talk a good idealistic game but corrupt to the bone.
