The link above does not include all of the rant broadcast on L.A. local TV. The strike demands also include a limit on future Charter schools, and stated that people involved in forming Charters became millionaires. FALSE. The usual crap-speak out of a Union bully. One would think that the CA education rating which is about 40th (+?) in the country would offer apologies rather than demands. The strike is a part of strikes in other states first begun in W. Virginia. Randi Weingarten was mentioned! (google her bio!) I call B.S. on the National teachers unions. Close the Fed. Dept. of Ed. Put schools back into control of local districts, and the lotteries to get in a Charter will be diminished. A school in Dana Point just proudly announced they were switching to Spanish language ‘immersion’. Kids will get half a lesson, while Libs marvel at how virtuous they are. Our kids are so short-changed but will be urged to welcome all the wetback spill-over that has ruined CA and it’s once great education reputation.
I cant find an LAUSD school around here that is not a charter school.
Your key point was nicely and succinctly encapsulated in a few words....."Our kids are getting SO short-changed".
